Yitzy Rosenberg

Hi, I’m Yitzy. Thanks for checking out my little corner of the web.

My Non-Linear Path

I don’t fit in boxes. I usually break them to see how they’re made.

My education didn’t happen in a typical classroom. I left an insular community at 15 to find my own way, teaching myself high school to get a GED on public library Wi-Fi. After work as a teacher I would then cycle 20 plus miles to get to night classes at community college. There I learned about chemistry, fell in love with water, and finished my degrees at Cornell University on a full scholarship.

Why does this matter to you?

Because I don’t panic when the blueprint is missing. I’m a self-starter and gritty problem solver.

Spiders are the original systems engineers. They build complex, resilient structures seemingly out of nothing. That is how I approach my work. Whether I’m managing a $350M water infrastructure portfolio, building and running a high-growth startup, or optimizing a commercial real estate firm, I treat every challenge the same way:

  • Assess the resources
  • Hack the system
  • Build a path where there wasn't one

The Consulting Practice

Founder, ConsultantYYR Consulting · 2026 – Present

Startups outgrow their operations long before they can afford an operations team to build them properly.

Startup operations consulting. First client: Gearsupply, from diagnosis to handoff in under two months.

Gearsupply Hub. Architected and shipped a custom AI-coded internal platform, replacing triple-counted spreadsheets with a single source of truth across $10M in inventory.

End-to-end workflows. Designed and integrated operational workflows across serial tracking, receiving, testing, and fulfillment within Odoo, reducing inventory error rates from 100+ to 3-4 per bay across the warehouse.

Asset recovery. Built a KPI dashboard system and end-to-end disposition and asset recovery process, establishing real-time operational visibility and driving approximately $1M in expected recovery across previously untracked inventory.

The handoff. Delivered a full operational technology stack and onboarded a non-technical Director of Operations to independently manage all systems.

The Health Tech Build

Co-FounderAstrid · Dec 2025 – Jun 2026

PMDD is a moving target where biology and circumstance are so intertwined that diagnosis stays invisible to modern medicine.

Built a diagnostic bridge to automate behavioral tracking and eliminate the misdiagnosis loop.

The Diagnostic Bridge. Automating the months of behavioral tracking required for formal diagnosis to eliminate the “data fatigue” barrier.

Pattern Recognition. Moving beyond “one-size-fits-all” medicine by mapping how the condition interacts with neurodivergence and external stress.

Ending the Misdiagnosis Loop. Providing objective, cyclical data that prevents the incorrect long-term prescriptions that often mask the root cause.

The Real Estate Turnaround

Head of Special Projects, Asset and Product ManagerWoolbright Development · 2024 – 2025

Dragging a legacy, intuition-based industry into the future by replacing manual processes with high-velocity, data-driven systems.

Private equity. Southeast-focused retail real estate developer specializing in shopping centers. $1B+ portfolio.

The leasing framework. Built and launched a proprietary leasing framework and full CRM product modeling pipeline throughput, asset attractiveness, and execution friction, generating $14M in portfolio value at distressed properties where prior agents had failed.

User research. Conducted structured user research across 3 departments, diagnosing operational gaps and redesigning core workflows to deliver measurable performance visibility to the CEO and leadership team for the first time.

The acquisitions tool. Defined requirements, built, and shipped an AI-assisted acquisition tool automating OM parsing, ownership research, and risk categorization, scaling the team’s weekly deal review capacity 10x.

The heavy lift. Led cross-functional delivery of a $10M+ retail redevelopment across bidding, permitting, and construction workstreams, coordinating a multi-disciplinary team from kickoff to on-time completion.

The Startup Scale Up

Director of OperationsGearsupply · 2023 – 2024

Building a company’s internal nervous system from scratch while it’s already running at full speed.

Series A startup. Largest online marketplace and direct inventory retailer for professional video, audio, and production equipment.

The triage. Diagnosed and resolved critical operational failures across warehouse leases, insurance, and logistics within weeks of joining a near-shutdown operation, restoring full business continuity across three locations.

The platform. Built and shipped the company’s first integrated inventory and CRM platform connecting accounting, sales, purchasing, and warehouse operations, eliminating the complexity that had driven the entire sales team to resign.

Fulfillment. Owned and shipped fulfillment, product testing, and customer service workflow products, reducing fulfillment time to under 24 hours, driving error rates to near zero, and enabling the sales team to scale to $15M+.

The scale. Scaled operations from 3 to 20 people in under a year while leading international expansion into Mexico, building customs workflows, cross-border logistics infrastructure, and metric-based performance systems.

The 100 Year Infrastructure

District Resiliency Project ManagerSouth Florida Water Management District · 2021 – 2023

Balancing the immediate engineering needs of 10 million people against the long-term, existential threat of sea-level rise and a shifting climate.

Federal government. Largest water management agency in the US, managing flood control, water supply, and ecosystem restoration.

The innovation program. Built a zero-to-one water innovation program from idea to funded reality in six months, securing millions in grants and private partnerships to pilot three nutrient runoff technologies, with the program still active today.

The planning process. Drove cross-functional alignment across 20+ subject matter experts to design and ship a water supply planning process now formally adopted into the Lower East Coast regional regulatory framework.

The portfolio. Joined as a founding member of the district’s first resiliency team, securing $100M+ in flood protection funding through grant writing and executive presentations while managing a $350M+ infrastructure portfolio.

The Venture Capital Lens

Venture Capital Analyst and Kessler FellowChloe Capital · 2020 – 2021

Identifying the signal in the noise of early-stage tech to separate high-impact investment opportunities from the hype of a pitch deck.

Venture capital. Early-stage fund investing in gender-diverse founding teams across technology and consumer sectors.

Capital sourcing. Built one of the earliest automated investor scraping and outreach systems before the tooling was ubiquitous, generating LP connections that directly contributed to the firm’s inaugural $50M fund raise.

Diligence at scale. Built the firm’s first CRM and portfolio monitoring system tracking performance across 20 companies, while conducting full investment diligence across 50+ companies and publishing a widely cited white paper on gender lens investing.

Community

"I believe the best systems are human ones."

Friday Night Dinners

Over the last few years, I’ve hosted nearly 100 Friday Night Dinners, often squeezing 30 strangers into my living room. The only rule? Bring someone who thinks differently than you do. The strongest networks aren’t built around transactions. They’re built around tables.

Local Volunteering

As the son of a rabbi, I’ve seen firsthand how a strong local community can transform lives. I believe it’s essential to contribute where you live. Show up, roll up your sleeves, and invest in the people and places right around you. That’s where change starts.

AguaClara Reach

A global focus matters just as much as a local one. Safe water is the most fundamental resource, and AguaClara has been able to provide it for over 100,000 people across Honduras, India, and Nicaragua. We’re still growing, because the need doesn’t stop.
